TRAUMA
Does this sound like you?
“I know I should be over it, but it still lingers. Certain moments, feelings, or even random triggers bring me right back. I try to move forward, but it feels like the past still has a hold on me.”
Healing from Trauma
Trauma isn’t just about what happened—it’s about how it continues to impact you. Whether it stems from a single event or repeated experiences over time, trauma can reshape the way you see yourself, others, and the world.
Signs That Trauma May Be Affecting You:
Flashbacks or distressing memories that feel intrusive
Feeling emotionally numb or disconnected from yourself or others
Persistent anxiety, fear, or hypervigilance
Difficulty trusting people, even when they haven’t hurt you
Avoiding certain places, people, or situations that remind you of past experiences
Irritability, mood swings, or feeling emotionally overwhelmed
Struggles with self-worth, perfectionism, or feeling “never enough”
Trouble sleeping, nightmares, or unexplained physical symptoms
Trouble concentrating or staying focused on conversations with others
You deserve peace. You deserve to heal. Let’s take the next step together. With the right support, you can build resilience, strengthen your self-trust, and move forward with confidence.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) & Complex Trauma
For some, trauma develops into PTSD, which can include intrusive thoughts, emotional distress, nightmares, and an ongoing sense of danger. Others may experience complex trauma (C-PTSD), resulting from prolonged exposure to distressing situations, such as childhood emotional neglect, unhealthy relationships, or repeated invalidation. Regardless of how trauma has shown up in your life, healing is possible.
How Therapy Can Help
Trauma therapy goes beyond simply talking about what happened—it focuses on helping your nervous system regain a sense of safety and control. I use evidence-based approaches such as:
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): A powerful method that helps reprocess traumatic memories, allowing your brain to heal and integrate the past without feeling stuck in it. For more information about EMDR, click here.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Identifying and shifting thought patterns that reinforce fear, shame, or self-doubt.
Somatic and Mindfulness-Based Approaches: Trauma is stored in the body, and healing involves more than just the mind. Somatic therapy helps reconnect you with your body, release tension, and regulate your nervous system. This can include grounding exercises, breathwork, guided movement, and body awareness techniques that help shift stored trauma. Mindfulness-based approaches focus on increasing present-moment awareness, developing self-compassion, and creating a sense of inner safety. Together, these tools help you regain a sense of calm and control.
You don’t have to do this alone.
Healing from trauma is not about forgetting—it’s about reclaiming your life and stepping into the version of yourself that isn’t defined by what happened. With the right support, you can build resilience, strengthen your self-trust, and move forward with confidence.
With my own experience with trauma and working with trauma my entire career as a therapist, I’m always mindful of how hard it can be to open up to a therapist and share some of your hardest experiences. With that being said, I’m grateful to be given the opportunity to work with my clients and witness their journey in healing.
